Install Instructions

Installation takes 3 simple steps:

1) Run the setup executable

Note: make sure that the installation directory is the one where your Metatrader 4 installation is located. If only one Metatrader copy is installed in the default program folder this should be filled out automatically.

Fig. 1. Setup. Choose the installation directory where your MetaTrader program is installed.

2) Start Metatrader

Check/Set the general settings of expert advisors in the Metatrader "Expert Advisors" tab of the Dialog "Extras -> Option" [short cut CTRL-Q]

The settings must be set to:

* allow the use of DLLs,
* allow external libraries and
* disable the option that Metatrader will ask for permission on every call of an extern DLL

Fig. 2. Configuration of MetaTrader. Make sure you allow DLL and external experts imports.

Q: It does not start/ I can't see anything happen.
A: Please check the MetaTrader 4 log reports. You can find these in your the MetaTrader's terminal window [short cut CTRL-T]. There check the outputs of the "Experts" and "Journal" tabs.

Q: Error 127 in the terminals "Experts" or "Journal" logs:
A: The EA/Indicator's DLL could not be loaded. Check that:
- Use of external libraries and DLLs is allowed in general (Extras-> Options, Tab "Expert Advisors") and when starting the EA/Indicator (see step 2 and 3 of the installation instructions)
- All files are installed at the correct location

Q: Error 126 in the terminals "Experts" or "Journal" logs:
A: External DLLs that the ImpulsDLL.dll refers to are not found. Download
Start and open the ImpulsDLL.dll. Note the error message. This/these DLLs are not found on your system and must be installed.

Q: EA/Indicator does not start.
A: In addition to the errors above check whether the windows-user under which the Metatrader executable is running has sufficient system rights to access and write to the folders \experts\files, \experts\logs and to the folders \tester\files, tester\logs.
Here log and output files will be generated. By default you may not have these rights!

Q: I can find the EA/Indicator in Metatrader.
A: Check whether the EA/Indicator is listed in the Metatrader-"Navigator" window as shown for the IMPULS indicator in Fig. 3. If you can not find it here, try to restart your MetaTrader terminal or your computer. If this does not help, repeat the installation and note the installation directory. Verify that the installation directory is the folder where your used MetaTrader 4 program is located. Additionally check the sub-folders if all files were installed correctly.

Q: Where are the EA's/Indicator's files installed?
A: The files for your MetaTrader 4 EA or indicator are installed in sub directories of your MetaTrader 4 program installation which is usually found in your Windows program's folder by default. The access and view may be hidden and limited depending on your systems configuration and user rights. In question please consult your system's administrator.

Q: Which files are installed by the IMPULS Indicator?
A: In your MetaTrader 4 root directory:

Q: Which files are installed by the 3rd Generation Moving Indicator?
A: In your MetaTrader 4 root directory:
\experts\indicators\ST_Moving Averages 3rd Generation.ex4

Q: I still don't get it running.
A: Check if log files exist in the folder \experts\logs or \tester\logs.
If yes, send us the log files.
If no, you must allow full write and access permission to this folder. In question, ask you system administrator for help with user rights.
